So I've been waiting to post this just because ya'll don't care. But I am just super worried. Tuesday night, Scarlett, my youngest dog, and most energetic, spent her night throwing up every 20 mins. I stayed up with her, cleaning after her and just comforting her in between episodes. This went on until about 2 in the afternoon on Wednesday. Wednesday night i tried to get some food and water into her system. I was only able to force water into her using a syringe (bc water is mad important yo). Last night she got up several times to ask me to go out to potty and she did potty. Waking up this morning, she's very lethargic. She's a very small dog so missing a meal and not drinking water often can really mess with her digestive system. Knowing that small dogs are very prone to hypoglycemia after not eating for 12 hours, I had to force some gatorade into her in an attempt to get her to ingest some sugar. It's 1 in the afternoon on Thursday and she's still very lethargic. I'll be scheduling a vet visit asap as I believe she is having complications after being fed human food by my grandmother on Tuesday. She may have a blockage, or some sort of poisoning.
Hopefully the vet will determine that she only needs saline to get her up and going, but worst case scenario, she may have a blockage that will have to be removed with surgery. This is so scary for me. And I worry for her. The last time she was put on the operating table, she was spayed, and the recovery time for that simple procedure was LONG bc her skin was so easily tear-able that just standing up and going to the bathroom would open her stitches. It was hell. Her spaying scar is SO big. Anyway. I just needed to vent bc im sort of freaking out. Hopefully she will resolve her own problems, or the vet finds a simple solution. :C
